snapshot of the coastline in Devon, England. took this while standing on a pedestrian walkway bridge that crosses the train tracks running the shore. this was, according to my uncle, the same railway built by an engineer who also worked on the Titanic... comforting fact, no? anyway, other than that, it was the most gorgeous day to be by the sea and to watch the fabulous Dawlish Red Arrows flash through the sky. everyone in the town was out and about, setting up blankets and umbrellas to stake out their designated spots.
some kids even sat on top of their parents' cars, munching on snacks and catching some rays. i absolutely loved this shot because of the ginormous England sticker on the back window... talk about national pride :) it was probably one of the nicest days i've ever had, and just looking through all my old pictures of the trip makes me so happy. if you get the chance to go to England, i suggest making a stop in this quaint little beach town, it's adorable and breathtaking all at the same time. be sure to try their clotted creme, it's a specialty there! oh, and i highly suggest checking out their infamous black swans, fascinating creatures they are.
oh man.
hopefully later this year i will be able to go back, i just applied to study there this coming fall semester. i swear, im just not meant to be where i am right now. i belong in europe. where everything's compact and so full of history and rich in culture... but we shall see. life has this funny way of twisting fate sometimes.

sometimes, when i feel like i want to run away, i just look through some of my favorite pictures. this one in particular always takes me back to a place where i felt so carefree and small and ever so adventurous. random adventures and wandering the city... it was one of the most glorious weekends of my life. how i wish i could escape there again, just stop and rewind my life, then press play on this moment. wandering the city with one of my best friends in the entire world in one of the most spectacular cities in the entire world... is for me, pure happiness. <3 and with the soundtrack album: dcfc's narrow stairs. life just cant get any better.

so it is
6:45 a.m. on a wednesday morning
and the sunrise is b-e-a-utiful.
im sitting in my dorm study lounge and the sunshine's bleeding onto my eyes from the window.
and despite my slight sleep deprivation, im ridiculously happy
all i need are a t.v. with the news and a nice cappuccino
oh, and with a piece of chocolate. that'd be a nice touch.

im awake at this ridiculous hour to attempt to finish my women in European history paper. researching for this has given me a lot of insight into the regulation of female sexuality throughout the early modern period. quite interesting how they also managed to tie in the witch hunt that occurred during the time, too. but i wont bore you with this. hehe. i think im absolutely in love with mornings now. i love watching the sky change colors, as if unveiling the ultimate glow of the sun as it rises. its simply gorgeous, and i relish the days i get to sit in solitude to enjoy them. i can't help but try to enjoy it; knowing that i may very well be in europe next semester has made me want to indulge in the little things here that make this place amazing. not only is it HOME but it's got such amazing characteristics that... well, if i were going to be gone for a few months i know i will probably miss it. but if i were to be gone for an entire YEAR like i have been hoping... we shall see. but you know, you always miss something once it's gone. have a fabulous day, folks! 'cause after this morning, i know i will :)

sometimes just a good, comfy cafe is all you need to perk you right up. even though i never got to experience that then, when c took me to this awesome cafe as pictured above i just knew right then that it was byfar the coolest place i think i had ever set foot in. it had all the elements that i loved: hole-in-the-wall vibe, yummy sandwiches, COFFEE, MUSIC, and quirky furniture. ive yet to return for a repeat trip, but trust me folks, it will happen in the near future... maybe potentially after i pick up a small bag of imagawayaki to keep me company whilest i read my history book and sip a nice cappuccino at one of those cute little diner-esque tables.
