good morning! <3
this is a fabulous morning. yeah, sure there's no sunshine, but there's something so pleasant about the unexpected little things in life that can transform even the most mundane of situations. im currently sitting in the library on my computer, sipping this incredibly warming cup of matcha green tea, and secretly listening to the beautiful sounds the two french girls on the table over are whispering to each other.
okay sure i sound like such a freaking creeper, but it's not like i understand anything they're saying anyway haha. but really, personally, its moments like these, when i am caught off guard by the complete sophistication and elegance of the french language, do i ache with sadness that i can't speak it. i absolutely adore the way the sounds seem to ebb and flow together, even with the sharp "s" sounds people make when they're speaking in a whisper. plus, as im eavesdropping, i spy familiar words i know, mostly from my favorite movie of all time. i have a feeling the only reason i adore french is because i adore this movie which is because i adore paris. in essence, i am an unofficial certified francophile. and i am determined to go to paris this fall while i am in london, (in the words of captain hook) "if it's the last thing i do!"
speaking of paris, my adopted sister b came to visit me on campus yesterday (i really dont think she knows how wonderful her visit was for me; it'd been a while since ive spoken to somebody who gets me the way she does, and isnt afraid to joke with me openly about my retardednessnessness. she never seems to fail to make me happy) and we were sitting in the coffee shop blabbering away like idiots. coffee and friends, what more can you ask for? well, if we get our way, we will be able to be in europe together this fall! if only for a few days, just so we can visit all the cool little places around london and then make our way to the amazing apostrophe hotel! then i imagine we'll nosh on crepes and croissants and walk the champs-elysee and watch the eiffel light up at night... in london we'll run around places like topshop and jack wills and hang out in hyde park and have photo shoots in front of big ben all the while snacking on fish and chips... yes i am quite the dreamer, aren't i? whatever. i like to think of myself as a hopeful optimist. sometimes. :)

Your fingertips across my skin
The palm trees swaying in the wind
Images
You sang me Spanish lullabies
The sweetest sadness in your eyes
Clever trick
Well, I never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]
Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

We walked along a crowded street
You took my hand and danced with me
Images
And when you left, you kissed my lips
You told me you would never, never forget
These images
No
Well, I'd never want to see you unhappy
I thought you'd want the same for me

[Chorus]

I cannot go to the ocean
I cannot drive the streets at night
I cannot wake up in the morning
Without you on my mind
So you're gone and I'm haunted
And I bet you are just fine
Did I make it that
Easy to walk right in and out
Of my life?

[Chorus]

Goodbye, my almost lover
Goodbye, my hopeless dream
I'm trying not to think about you
Can't you just let me be?
So long, my luckless romance
My back is turned on you
Should've known you'd bring me heartache
Almost lovers always do

almost lover - a fine frenzy

i am craving this place. big time.
the most amazing brazilian pot pies...
in the words of b, delish!!!
located in the heart of downtown; one of my favorite places in the world now, all thanks to b.
that's how i spent much of my day today, all thanks again to b.
today's epic downtown adventure with her definitely made me want to go back more.
reminds me of how so full of life and culture this city has
and we've only hit up one part of the city! there's so much more yet to do... to eat!! hahah
honestly it's incredible how many food places we absolutely need to hit up in downtown;
there's no such thing as a diet when that girl and i are together hahah!
for today we limited ourselves to a few old faves
infusion cafe for chai lattes and one of the most spectacular cheesecakes i think i have ever had in my life... scrum-diddly-umcious! the cafe definitely deserves a repeat soon. it was my first time, b's a "regular" at this point and is all up on the counter making friends with the co-owner and taking photos with him. it's a laid-back place, and im not gonna lie i absolutely love it already. just one hour there and im hooked!
hanaichimonme for some nostalgia (for me; for b it was a "de-flowering") and the best damn ramen noodles i've had in what seems like ages and ages. my mom, sister, and i used to frequent this place quite a bit while i was growing up and just taking one bite of that little clump of yellow, stringy ramen brought such happiness... and it was really awesome that b was all into it, being so curious and so adventurous about it! it's honestly one of my pet peeves to have to eat with a ridiculously picky eater; i mean, come on, it's food, you're not going to die if you dont like it, get over yourself!! and every time you try something new, it's a completely new experience you will most likely never forget. yeah, so i love food
bite me
so afterwards, we wandered around the shopping plaza and the little grocery store that was once-upon-a-time a mistuwa, but i think is slowly converting into a korean supermarket... interesting, considering the location haha....  then we parked around r23 (a MUST for next time! best sushi bar/art gallery) amidst the most amazing neighborhood ever and stumbled upon this super cute vintage store (forgot its name... :() where we came across a ton of cute home made things that i swear screamed spo; makes me wonder how that girl is, not liking the whole MIA status. nuh huh. not one bit.
then of course a trip to downtown would be nothing without a walk to our imagawayaki spot just one block from our other fave, yogurtland. ohh imagawayaki... love love love it and that place, just gotta make sure to keep cash handy at all times; eff prking!

and now, my day will come to a close in my room,
where i will be suffering writing this 14 page paper for history.
oh, what an exciting  friday night it's going to be...
...thank goodness for blogs :)

new favorite book of all time.
finished it in like, a day.
well, it reads like a comic.
haha, im no master reader,
although sometimes i wish i were
just to make the whole school thing a lot easier.
this, my friends, is my new inspiration.
inspiration for a whole new project.
time of completion: sometime this summer.
and then a part two edition, set in england for the fall.
so excitedddd
...ohhhh if only this month could just finish
and i would be half way across the world
taking pictures
eating exotic foods
seeing new sights
and just plain being away from all this calamity...

because apparently im just a dillusional sophomore.
as dilusional as a fifteen year old sister
and well,
quite frankly i dont wish to be around people who treat me as such
overrr it
