snapshot of the coastline in Devon, England. took this while standing on a pedestrian walkway bridge that crosses the train tracks running the shore. this was, according to my uncle, the same railway built by an engineer who also worked on the Titanic... comforting fact, no? anyway, other than that, it was the most gorgeous day to be by the sea and to watch the fabulous Dawlish Red Arrows flash through the sky. everyone in the town was out and about, setting up blankets and umbrellas to stake out their designated spots.
some kids even sat on top of their parents' cars, munching on snacks and catching some rays. i absolutely loved this shot because of the ginormous England sticker on the back window... talk about national pride :) it was probably one of the nicest days i've ever had, and just looking through all my old pictures of the trip makes me so happy. if you get the chance to go to England, i suggest making a stop in this quaint little beach town, it's adorable and breathtaking all at the same time. be sure to try their clotted creme, it's a specialty there! oh, and i highly suggest checking out their infamous black swans, fascinating creatures they are.
oh man.
hopefully later this year i will be able to go back, i just applied to study there this coming fall semester. i swear, im just not meant to be where i am right now. i belong in europe. where everything's compact and so full of history and rich in culture... but we shall see. life has this funny way of twisting fate sometimes.
